NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR MILLVALE FIRE STATION STRUCTURAL RENOVATIONS

Sealed Proposals will be received by Borough of Millvale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania until 11:00 A.M. prevailing time, October 31, 2019 and the same will be publicly opened and read immediately thereafter for the following project: MILLVALE FIRE STATION STRUCTURAL RENOVATIONS
 
This project includes installation of structural reinforcements to the existing station including installing new floor supports and modifications to the second floor of the building as well as installation of a new larger garage door.
 
Proposals shall be delivered in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside with the words “MILLVALE FIRE STATION STRUCTURAL RENOVATIONS”. All Proposals must be in the hands of Mr. Eddie Figas, Borough Manager, Borough of Millvale, 501 Lincoln Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209, by 11:00 A.M. prevailing time, October 31, 2019.
A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for October 28, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Fire Station, 501 Lincoln Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209. 
 
Copies of Drawings, Specifications, Instructions to Bidders, General Conditions, Forms of Proposals and Agreement are on file and open for public inspection between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the office of The Gateway Engineers, Inc., 100 McMorris Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15205 where sets of said documents may be obtained beginning October 3, 2019 upon payment of $50.00 per set. A $15.00 fee shall be applied if documents are to be mailed.  No refund will be made for the return of any documents.
 
Prevailing wage rates will be required to be paid on this Contract.
 
Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided by Borough of Millvale.  Proposals to receive consideration must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder's Bond from a Surety Company authorized to do business in Pennsylvania, made to the order of Borough of Millvale in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Proposal as a guarantee that, if the Proposal is accepted, the successful Bidder will enter into an Agreement within fifteen (15) days after Notice of the Award of the Contract.
 
The Proposals must be made to Borough of Millvale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and shall remain firm for a period of sixty (60) days.  No Bidder may withdraw their Proposal during the sixty (60) day period without forfeiting their Bid guarantee.
 
Performance, Maintenance, and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, along with Public Liability and Property Damage Certificates of Insurance in the amounts specified, as well as Certificates of Workman's Compensation must be filed with the executed Agreement upon acceptance of the Proposal from the successful Bidder.
 
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals, or any part thereof, for any reason, and also reserves the right to waive any informality therein.
