Information/Statement on April 11, 2024 Weather Event

On Thursday (April 11, 2024) evening, the National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning due to the rainstorms in our region. Unfortunately, there was some localized flooding in some areas of Millvale Borough, and there were basements of residences and businesses that incurred flooding and property damage. Millvale Volunteer Fire Department as well as other mutual aid companies were out during and after the weather event pumping out flood waters; many thanks for their swift action in this service to help minimize any further damage to property. Thank you also to Emergency Management, Borough Council, Millvale Borough Police, Mayor Spoales and Borough Staff for your swift action to help notify residents of updates regarding this weather incident.

We are asking that anyone who has had any flooding or property damage to give the Borough Office a call (412-821-2777 x 3134) or to use the "Contact Us" form on the front page of the Borough Website, and let us know your name, address, phone number and what was damaged/flooded during last night's weather event.

North Hills Community Outreach has provided us with Disaster Relief Assessment forms for any Borough resident/business owner to fill out if they are needing assistance with aid of any kind. We will scan them over to NHCO for processing. You can also call them at 412-487-6316 to complete this form. They will also be receiving around 60 flood clean up buckets soon - please contact them if you are in need of one.

We will be monitoring the weather and the creeks as we are anticipating more rain coming into the area, as well as being under a Flash Flood Warning until 8:00pm this evening (April 12, 2024). For immediate assistance, if it is an emergency, please do not hesitate to contact 9-1-1.
