Emergency Statement on August 17, 2019 Weather Event

The National Weather Service confirmed a microburst touched down in Millvale on Saturday, August 17, 2019. Borough Emergency Services, First Responders and Staff are working with Utility Companies to identify and address all damage. EXCERCISE CAUTION WITH DOWNED UTILITY LINES, DO NOT APPROACH OR TOUCH, CALL 911 immediately

As of Sunday, August 18 at 4 P.M. the following streets remain closed: Sheridan (between Stanton and Grant), Davis (between Siegel and Gerwig), Scott (between Joseph and Elizabeth), Pamela and Evergreen. Evergreen has multiple trees and power lines down, Duquesne Light and Penn Dot are responding. Evergreen is a State road.

Street Cleaning for Monday, August 19, 2019 is cancelled, Borough staff will be clearing downed trees, catch basins and any debris in the creek. The Borough Crew CANNOT remove trees or debris on private property, if you have downed trees or utility lines call 911 to report.

As of 4:30 P.M. on Sunday, August 18, Millvale Borough filed a Declaration of Disaster with Allegheny County. Permit Fees for storm damage repairs will be waived, permits must be filed and approved before wor begins.
