Updates on Millvale Flooding Incident of 7/5/2018

Good Morning Millvale:

It's been one week since Millvale experienced flooding which left a lot of our residents with damage to their homes, as well as loss of personal property. In that week we have seen such an outpouring of support everywhere - from our neighboring municipalities and different non-profit organizations, to volunteers from all over the area that pitched in and even our own neighbors within the community. It's truly an amazing thing to see so many folks come together to pitch in and help. Thank you.

As we move forward, and move toward the next step, we'd like to remind folks that TODAY (7/12/18) there will be a MARC (Multi-Agency Resource Center) established at the Millvale Community Center (416 Lincoln Ave, 15209) for the flood victims. The MARC will be open to the public from 1PM to 7PM. The MARC is also open to victims of flooding in the surrounding areas that have been hit recently, such as Sharpsburg, Aspinwall and others.

Additionally, a flier has been posted to our Facebook and Twitter pages letting folks know about the Hebrew Free Loan Fund, who reached out to us as a resource for residents and businesses who are working to repair damage from the flood.  They offer interest-free loans with no collateral required.

Finally, The St. Margaret Foundation is sponsoring a Flood Relief Free Store at Fox Chapel Plaza - 1111 Freeport Road on Friday 7/13 and Saturday 7/14 from 10:00am - 2:00pm. If you are looking to donate, they are requesting furniture, area rugs, fans, dehumidifiers, space heaters and storage containers. For more info: please email - FCAreaFloorRelief@gmail.com.
