Update from Mayor Brian Spoales

Good Evening Millvale

It has been a very long and tedious day with the events from this morning’s rainfall.  I want to take the time to THANK those that helped our community today.  The help received today whether you were involved with pumping out basements, helping those in need with emptying their homes, worked in our community center or maybe just held a hand with one of our citizens was a blessing and our town Thanks You.

We must give out a special thank you for the surrounding areas that sent forces our way to help with the efforts today:  Aspinwall, Blawnox Swift Water Rescue Team, Cherry City, Elizabeth Squad 139, Etna, Mt Troy, Reserve Twp., Sharpsburg, Middle Road, Undercliff, Hampton and North Hampton, Ross/West View Rescue 40, Ross/West View EMS, Shaler Twp., Parkview.  I am sure that I am missing someone but know that Millvale is in a better place tonight for all your help.

Thank you also goes out to American Red Cross and Salvation Army that were on site all day to provide water and food to our workers and citizens.

Items of Importance:

The community center will be open tomorrow with snacks/ food / water etc for those in need.

The salvation army will be on hand in the community center if you need any help.

We still have cleaning supplies at the Fire Department.

Dumpsters will be strategically located throughout the borough.

Regular Trash pickup is still scheduled for Saturday due to the holiday this week.

If you have any other need please continue to call 911 so that there is a record of your call.

Finally, a Huge Shout out to the Millvale Borough Team – Fire Department, First Responders, Public Works and Police.
