FIREWORKS UPDATE

As we prepare for Independence Day, Borough Council, The Mayor and Borough Police would like to remind everyone of the following guidelines and laws. Please know, we understand this year is different than others with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, but that does not give anyone the right to disturb others or violate Commonwealth regulations or local Borough ordinances. 
 
PA Law states:
***FIREWORKS CANNOT BE DISCHARGED WITHIN 150 FEET OF AN OCCUPIED STRUCTURE, WHETHER OR NOT A PERSON IS ACTUALLY PRESENT.***
FIREWORKS cannot be ignited or discharged on public or private property without express permission of the property owner.
FIREWORKS cannot be discharged from or within a motor vehicle or building.
FIREWORKS cannot be discharged toward a motor vehicle or building.
FIREWORKS cannot be discharged while the person is under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance, or another drug.
 
Borough Code, Chapter 190 - Excess Residential noise before 7 am or after 10 pm (11 pm on Friday and Saturday) is enforcable by the Borough Police Department ith penaltys up to $1,000 plus costs.
