BYLAWS OF MILLVALE MAINSTREET

 

The Millvale Main Street Board is comprised of members, representative of the community, and appointed by the Millvale Borough Development Corporation to serve as advocates for the revitalization and preservation of downtown heritage. By fostering community pride and involvement, stimulating diverse business development, and organizing and maintaining the overall community effort to revitalize Millvale’s downtown businesses and residences, the Millvale Main Street Board champions the interests of Millvale’s MainStreet District.

PURPOSES

The organization's purpose is to bring businesses and residents together to promote economic growth and improve the quality of life in Millvale.
 
The Organization will also endeavor to stimulate the downtown business district, to preserve historic structures, and revitalize Millvale through encouraging cooperation and building leadership in the business community. The Organization will create a positive image by promoting Millvale as an exciting place to live, shop and invest. The Organization shall receive, administer and distribute funds in connection with any activities related to the above purposes; provided, however, that the Organization shall only engage in activities that are in the purview of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or corresponding sections of any prior or future law. The Organization is not formed for financial gain, and no part of the assets, or income of the Organization shall be distributable to benefit its directors or members, except to the extent permitted under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (the Code) of and the Treasury Regulations promulgated hereunder.

 


 

GOALS

Establish funding options for specific projects, update directory of grants and loans and match key projects to appropriate funding options.
 
Work with borough departments, the Millvale Borough Development Corporation (MBDC) and other agencies to strengthen existing businesses.
 
Communicate with businesses about the resources
 
Cooperate with the Borough to improve the visual streetscape including cleanliness, renovation, landscaping guidelines, and other elements.
 
Work with the Borough to improve maintenance in the MainStreet area.
 
Facilitate clean up efforts with civic groups and business/property owners
 
Identify key problem areas/buildings and meet with owners to discuss options
 
Provide information to businesses and individuals regarding developments affecting Main Street.
