The MBDC Board of Directors is proud to list some of our accomplishments along with the realization of 2009 goals over the past two years:
Creation of the Grant Avenue Pocket Park
Developed on a site that was vacant and closed to residents for years, this reuse project has created a passive community gathering spot in the central business district.
New Street / Business Signs and Street Furniture
Following the installation of new street lamps the Borough and MBDC have added business identification signs and have purchased and will be installing fresh street furniture this summer.
Website, e - newsletter and Millvale Bulletin
The web-site continues to be improved now featuring on-line sign-up and online payment options. A new e-newsletter has been introduced and the revamped Millvale Bulletin is sent to residents 5 times a year. Advertising is now sold for the website, e-newsletter and Millvale Bulletin.
Consolidation
The Board of Directors has continued to add new members and has consolidated with the Focus Group to forge a stronger group to serve all of Millvale.
Brew Festival & More
For the past 5 years the Brew Festival has grown at an expediential rate raising over $20,000 and attracted close to 1,000 people in 2010. Other events are planned as both fundraising and community building events, the MBDC will continue creating interesting programs for our diverse population.
Clean and Green, Gardens of Millvale
A large-scale litter reduction campaign has been instituted along with a garden reclamation program and orchard. Future plans include a community oven, rain garden, rain barrels and green infrastructure initiative.

Implementation a comprehensive plan to aid existing businesses and attract others to Millvale is near; the program will help businesses stay appraised of available funding sources in today’s volatile economic climate.
