How Act 32 Will Impact Businesses in In 2012

In July of 2008 the Pennsylvania Legislature passed and Governor Rendell signed into law Act 32. Act 32 provides for the consolidation of Earned Income Tax Collection to countywide tax collection districts and for the standardization of the local tax collection process. One of the most significant changes will be mandatory payroll withholding of this tax and new reporting requirements. Keystone Collections Group has been selected to serve as the Tax Officer for several districts and will transition these areas into Act 32 that will start January 1, 2012. Keystone is currently engaged in a countywide outreach program to help educate employers and taxpayers to help ensure this transition process is as smooth as possible for everyone. This session will provide attendees with a general overview of the local tax changes, and the new requirements for employers brought about by Act 32, an introduction to the new countywide tax collector and an in-depth overview of the many new resources available to you to help simplify this transition.
